Ahh I see. But it's not GP's it's the Royal College of Anaesthetists that say it is not possible with any substance known to them.
A doctor all the same but in a specialist field of medicine
Still don't know everything whoever they are (never meet anyone who knows it all, meet a few who think they do), will have to agree to disagree
I believe it's possible (maybe unlikely) and you don't think it's possible

Well I've spent 2 of the last 3 weeks on aires with the windows open every night. This is our last night and I'd hate to think I'd carried this £2000 of cash and valuables around all this time only for nobody to gas and rob me.

many many years! since I was a kid
well I discussed this with my niece. I know she isn't an anaesthatist but she is a doctor specialising in toxicology and was carrying research out into paralytic agents and their effect on the nervous system from what she said. anyway, in her professional opinion the use of an airborne agent to knock out everyone in the room would either not work or kill a high proportion. the amount needed to subdue an active adult male would be much more than a child or dog. the level needed in fact would kill the smallest occupants long before it took effect on the largest
the paralytic agents used in surgery need to be calculated in milligrams per kilo of body weight

If eastern european criminal gangs have found an agent that can apparently incapacitate multiple patients of varying mass safely and simultaneously, then she wants to know about it. it will make her very rich and famous. plus it would save thousands of lifes per year in surgery

Whilst I remain highly sceptical about the notion of someone filling a MH with anaesthetic gas through vents or aircon, I can't help thinking there must be a way of putting someone into a stupor if you can get close enough to their face with chloroform or an aerosol of some substance or other, ie through an open window. The botched attempt at rescuing terrorists' hostages from a Russian cinema some years ago shows that narcotic gasses do exist, although that particular one was a massive failure in a large enclosed space. Also, bear in mind the soporific effects of aerosol-based solvent abuse among youngsters - one of my ex-pupils died from that a few years ago.

However, that said, there has yet to be a case of the occupant(s) of a truck, tent, or motorhome being found dead from the effects of narcotic gas. Of course I don't wish that on anyone and hope it stays that way, but it's hard to believe all these amateur nocturnal anaesthetists are creeping around without one or two of them getting it wrong.

And i don't think an insurance claim has ever been paid out,,,wonder why???? BUSBY.

Please don't start bringing experts into these type of threads; your niece might be fully qualified and knowledgable but she wasn't there when my neighbour's cousin's friends's mate was gassed in France and lost 6 IPads, 8 IPhones and their £3 million quid that was kept under the pillow. They even got themselves pictured in the Daily Fail so it must have been true. Save your expert for really contentious issues like the toxic impact of dripping grey waste on campsite pitches :)

I'm more interested in why we don't see white dog shit anymore. Yawn

My theory is that as people didn't use to clear up after their dogs, the poo dehydrated, leaving a very dry substance.
The brown colour of excrement is mostly due to used up ( and therefore dead) blood cells excreted processed via the liver and then disposed of via bowels.
Glad the only science course I ever did wasn't a total waste of time!

I suppose that (for want of a better expression) since all the goodness has evaporated from the aforesaid poo, then there would be no chance at all of it being deposited under the van in order to gas the occupants with the smell...........

.....on another note, our daughters unsavoury working cocker managed to harvest a few windfall plums from the garden, with fairly predictable and very smelly results. Maybe it was him wot gassed the OP. Certainly left me feeling headache-y and sick

I wonder if it was some kind of gas that made the dogs shit white. Maybe they sniffed the old coal gas, but now they sniff natural gas :imoutahere:
....they usually sniff other dogs arses, as far as I can see......

Re the white dog poo:

Apparently, years ago tinned dog food contained far more calcium from ground up bones. These were used to bulk out the food and it was this excess calcium excreted that caused white poo.
The BSE problem mostly stopped the use of ground up bone in dog food.

Phew..... we can all sleep well in our beds tonight now we know that.

Still on the subject of Gassing .....not dog poo. It is a bit odd that he does not tell you what Aire he was in even when asked . If that had really happened you would want everyone to know the location.

Well that`s our 13th year & still loving it.
The only bit I found of interest in the original post was that of "grey logs". That got me thinking of my early years where white dog shit was quite common. Whatever happened to the white stuff, and why don't we see it anymore ?
I guess that's just one of those unanswerable questions best left in the past.

As for the rest of his post. About as believable as my employees timesheets - deep breath, smile and nod.

Dogs don`t get fresh bones from the butchers anymore, too many folk buying crap meat from supermarkets.

As a young lad, I have a rather sad memory of sitting against a raised flower bed in Spain and absent mindedly playing with what I thought was dried white mud / clay until my grandmother suggested that I put it down and washed my hands; I'd never seen white dog poo and wasn't paying attention enough to have noticed what it was :sicker:. For the rest of the holiday, went around checking whether it was a characteristic of Spanish dogs.

One thing is certain ......If there was an incident when I thought that a chemical was involved and we were robbed in our MH . I would not post here! After total denial about any possibility that there might be some truth in the story the whole thread has collapsed into idiotic banter about dog poo .

That's not true, if you came on here with medical evidence and the name of the place where you were and a police report, everyone would immediately take notice , that's what's missing from all these stories, whatever the op was trying to get out of it is anyone's guess, if he had paid his tenner that would have been a big step, instead of just bu...ing off.
