Hi Everyone,
In preparation for our Summer holiday, we're having a 'dry run' in June - a short weekend away with our friends and all our children.
We need a recommendation on where to stay. My brain has melted searching the internet. Can any of you help? :helpsos:
Our needs: (as many of the following as possible I think)
Hard-standing (I think it would be wise, don't you)
Electric hook-up (for the sake of practice if nothing else)
Somewhere roughly equidistant midway between Leeds and Haywards Heath
A babbling brook (his requirement)
An on-site or close-by public house or 2, or 3 (collective male requirement)
A wood to yomp through and / or cycling routes to take
Something for the children (Ages 8, 6, 6, 3 & 1)
Some sort of means of getting provisions etc (since, as 'newbies' we're bound to forget something)
BBQ and / or open fire (optional)
I do hope that covers everything.
So far my research has uncovered the following:
Meadowsweet Farm - very small, access might be tricky in a Burstner Elegance
LE15 8QX - From Leeds - 2hr 30m, From Hayward's Heath - 3hr

The Green Man PH - right behind a CAMRA approved pub. No hard-standing or electric hook-up though.
CV47 9PW - From Leeds - 2hr 30m , From Haywards Heath - 2hr 30m
Link Removed
Reviews are here: http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/reviews.asp?revid=7107
Conkers - right next door to the National Forest Visitor Centre - http://www.visitconkers.com/ (which seems to have, amongst other things, a large adventure playground). Looks like it might be a bit 'exposed' if it's windy.
DE12 6BD - From Leeds - 2hr, From Haywards Heath - 3hr

Callow Top Holiday Park - Appears to have a micro-brewery on site! http://www.callowtop.co.uk/
DE6 2AQ - From Leeds - 2hr, From Haywards Heath - 3hr 30m
Here's hoping someone out there can come to my rescue.
Thanks in advance!
