ZADI fresh water filler cap

Hi, Just been out to the moho to check on something and found the water filler cap will not lock........... not strictly true,, the key turns and locks but if I press on the cap there seems to be enough resistance to undo it again even though locked. Have soaked in bleach to clean out then dosed with olive oil but it still will not remain secure.
Any ideas please.

Bowl of boiling water, chuck it in and leave for 5 mins, that normally sorts them out.

Tried the boiling water trick on ours (2013 Savannah) a couple of times with no success so ended up getting a new one here - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/35090138...d=link&campid=5338547443&toolid=20001&mkevt=1

Good fit and seems to be better than original. However, be aware that whilst it's a Zadi style lock it's a different diameter so you can't swap over the lock barrel from the original to retain key compatibility. Well, we couldn't!

Thanks for the replies, tried the hot water and it is still just as stiff. Will source replacement.

Not paranoia, just a sensible precaution i would have thought. Do you leave your doors unlocked ?? There are some strange folk out there you know.

Why take the risk when you have a lock to use

I have one of those replacements. In my case it was my own mindlessness. I put it down on the ground when were in Caradale a while ago and and forgot the damn thing. Lesson learned, the new one is now lanyarded to the van.
It works well, but was a little stiff initially, fine now though, just means another key on the key bunch. It's a smaller key, so not to much hassle.
