Your Beer of the week

And very nice it is.

Kaneens + BBNo, Pale Ale, Isle of Man

5.2% pale gold in colour with a thin head, this beer was a good lager.

Not been to the IOM since 1993, I did go to the TT for 20 years in a row before that but sadly never since.

Well, a strong Belgian ale again🇧🇪
Delirium Tremens is a golden ale with 8,5°, 26 IBU and 9 EBC.
Strong but sweet.
Loved it, but one is enough

Currently trying the Guinness 0% alcohol free. And very nice it is too!
Have a lot of driving to do lately and this stuff is pretty good in taste for when I fancy a beer.
Bloody expensive though at £1.25 per 400ml can!
I thought it would be under a quid especially as it has zero alcohol.

I reckon its the best zero percent available at the moment, it's my go to when alcohol is out of the question.(y)

Our local landlord had this on over this weekend gone.

I really like Orkney Brewery's Dark Island, so I just had to have a try. ;)
I had 2 x half pints on Friday early evening, on top of my 3 x pints of Butcombe Bitter, and although I could easily have had a third, I'm glad I didn’t as I became really dehydrated in the early hours of Saturday. :(
It is a very deceiving ale, inasmuch that although it is a very pleasant dark malty flavour, with a hint of spirits, the flavour gives no indication at all that it is really strong ale.
Very moreish indeed, but lethal with it. ;)

Cheers. :drink:

Jock. :)

Corr..I would love to have tried that Jock. Mmmm lovely sounding beer. 😋👍

Bit strong for lunchtime sat around the pool, 7.3%
It is nice though, especially chilled. ;)

My local landlord has had one of my favourites on tap this weekend gone, ie, .................

It has a nice full bodied fruity sweetness which suits my palate, rather than the bitter roasted flavours of some porters.

Cheers. :drink:

Nice drop that Jock but, there’s a London brewer called redemption who brew the best plum porter we’ve ever had. Only stumbled across it once in Londons Barbican, but it left its mark with us. 😎🍻🍻

I couldn't find a Plum Porter Steve, but they do a London Porter which does sound nice. (y)

Cheers,

Jock. :)

Was some years back Jock..maybe they just dumped it, but that would be a crime. 😬🙈

I'm currently parked up at Greenacres CL at Murrow in preparation for the Swaffham rally, and popped into the Bell run by John and Janice a lovely friendly couple, they serve Elgood beers so I tried Elgood's Black Dog a very tasty mild with hints of liquorice and only 3.6% so you can drink a fair amount of it. :giggle:

John is mostly enjoying 'citrussy' beers both those on at his venue of choice last night, were end of barrel and returned, think there is a method to his madness as i don't like them at all. A nice pint of best bitter and i am happy.

And they’re not half bad!

Although we are treating them as more of a single ‘apéritif’ before (draught) ‘wine o’clock’!
