Lost my car at Stanstead Airport about 12 years ago. After looking for ages. Rang their help line who, when I told them the date and time I entered, told me I was in the wrong area, did I feel a knob, what me.:LOL::LOL:

we went to global gathering near silverstone a good few years ago when we arrived there were maybe 50 cars parked when we returned there were thousands covering the whole hillside took us an hour to find ours

We have a dog walk from our house which takes us eventually to a small loch, round that and then home. But it's a longish walk.
Sometimes, we drive to the loch, walk round it, and drive home.
And sometimes, can you guess?

Many years ago I used to go to stock car racing at Coventry Stadium. The parking was really just a huge field outside the stadium and it was always a pain trying to find your car.
Until I bought a Landrover (Safari 12 seater model). I quickly became popular with my mates as we could find this monster very easily - as well as have no problem getting into the traffic stream, might is right! Of course they could all have a drink or three with no worries as well!

Another time I'd left my Xmas shopping very very late, i.e. Christmas Eve. It didn't help that I had to work in the morning and then join my colleagues for a Christmas drink. I decided that Solihull town centre had more than enough shops so parked up and staggered round for a couple of hours, successfully completing my shopping. Of course anyone who knows Solihull is aware that there are actually four car-parks situated strategically around the town centre - and, you've guessed it, I'd forgotten which one I'd used. Took me an hour and a half, visiting all four before I found the car!

Many years ago my secretary drove into London and parked on the 5th floor of a multi storey car park. When she came back to collect her car it was nowhere to be seen, and in a panic rang the police to report it stolen. When the cop car arrived they drove her around all the floors of the car park just in case she had mistaken which floor it was on and found her car on a different floor parked next to a 5mph sign!

My Spanish anaesthetist came out of the hairdressers and couldn’t find her car despite looking up and down the streets.

She reported the theft and insurance duly paid out.

8 months later the police contacted her as residents of the original street had complained of a car with flat tyres and an expired tax which had not moved for 8 months!

Many many years ago my friend tied a carrier bag on his aerial to easily find his car, on his return there must have been 50 carrier bags flying in the wind.???

when I was in the T.A.many years ago on an exercise ,in a camp on Salisbury plain one morning the whole regiment was on parade in front of all the vehicles ,which was unusual for our lot as we were usually left out in field somewhere out in the sticks ,when the parade was over and we had been given our orders this new lad asked me which was our Land Rover I said the green one in the middle of that lot .

Only a few days ago I went through Heathrow on a business trip. As it was only 3 days I went hand luggage only and separate laptop bag..... Walked all the way to coffee shop leaving my "hand luggage" wheelie case at the security bay..... Oops.

My mother left her nephew, in his prom, outside a shop, walked home and out the kettle on before she realised.
In the late 60s she went on a training course to Manchester, left her car in a car park and forgot which one. She called the police who drove her around several city centre car parks until she spotted her car. Don’t think they’d be able to do that today.

The “old” mini famously had only 20 or so lock combinations.
I remember walking down the street, opening the door, starting the engine and then realising this was not my mini.

Global Gathering ! :party2:

That takes me back to a time and a place...

...Hard Times, Back To Basics, Renaissance, Haçienda, Godskitchen, SOAK, Ark....:wink:

...and I've just clocked, and registered, your user name...very good, they were excellent, although I preferred super doves.

Flew to our office in Glasgow once... went through security at East Midlands Airport and all was fine... got to the office later that morning and realised I’d left my laptop behind.. I’d put one plastic tray on top of it and totally forgot it...

Collected it on the way back the next day... phew
