My old dad use to say steady up on that bike or you will wrap it round a lamp post. 
Must say I did come off once at speed watching my bike slide up the road until it hit the curb, stand up straight into a bus stop post.
So almost a lamp post, anyway a write off.
I always thought it was just a saying, but yesterday we saw it with our own eyes.
