According to GB News:

Furious Members of Parliament are set to question officials from the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) about what they say are “serious delays” in processing applications for driving licences.

The Transport Committee said its session later this month follows concerns from motorists, trainee drivers and lorry drivers about long delays in receiving documents.

The committee said the agency is apparently experiencing severe delays in processing paper-based applications for driving licences and other key documents.

Turnaround time for driving licenses is between six and 10 weeks

I have been waiting 11 weeks, all I get is auto generated email replies the phone and web chat is a complete waste of time.
Written a number of times to our MP, and he is trying to help.

I can top that and raise you 7 weeks,yes thats 18 weeks! No medical issues except the stress the DVLA are putting me through
