Hi new to motor homing what should I do about winter storage draining system etc should I leave motor home plugged in or disconnect battery’s have autotrail eks many thank Mark also going away for 5 weeks and leaving

I leave mine plugged in. Drain water, waste, cassette, and have tiny heater with a frost stat inside - or I did. Now leave Alde set at 8 degrees.

We leave our plugged in at home when not in use. We never disconnect the batteries. We drain water and waste tanks and boiler if we are leaving it for any length of time. Otherwise we keep the heating on low to prevent freezing.

Mine sits for 10mths a year, just keep starting it up now and again, I also take mine round the village to rotate the tyres, I do drain mine, lift cushions to let air flow, use a dehumidifier once every month (now I have an automatic one) its amazing what moisture you will draw out! Drain the water as stated above and keep batteries on trickle charge, my old one could only be set to either leisure or vehicle battery, so I left it on leisure and had a CTek charger constantly attached to the vehicle battery, there is a recent post about this so search CTek (y) Leave fridge door open and wipe down everything including the fridge with antibacterial wipes or fluid as wipes are not good for the environment ;) I keep blinds up all the time, this stopped them getting moisture in and going mouldy while jammed together although I had zero damp in mine, I also left taps open and flushed the waste tank with tank fresh, I also sterilised the toilet cassette with sterilising tablets. After 9 years my motorhome was just like the day I bought it, it sold within 2 days so I must have done something right(y) This is just off teh top of my head so there may be a few more bits to do, I now have to check my new motorhome as a few things like the controls are different but the basics stay the same.

Just got back from doing mine

Drain fresh and grey water tanks
Drain boiler
Open all taps
Remove inline pump strainer holder if you have one, it's a round perspex jobbie
I have a nature pure filter so removed that also, not sure if I needed to

Stand seat cushions on edge to let air circulate
leave lockers ajar to allow air to circulate

Hi Markus and welcome to the forum

Drain down all the water, leave the taps open and try to get the residual water out of the pipes and pump ( you can actually buy a small kit that will help with this )
If you are leaving it on hook up leave the batteries connected... No point in having it plugged in if you disconnect the batteries !
