Hi All

I have an Elddis Autoquest 196 2018 which is currently having a winter pack fitted (should have been fitted prior to purchase but they were on back order). Does anyone else have one and if so how do I use it? I assume it works like a frost heater and that the tank covers will automatically heat up when the temperature drops below a certain level so in theory there is nothing for me to do. But, does this mean I don't have to drain down completely inc the hot water tank? My reason for asking is that my toilet flush runs off the mains water so it would be good to be able to leave some water in the tank to be able to use the loo if necessary if just out on a day trip during the cold winter months.

Need to check with the fitting dealer. Swift used to be auto if water went in tanks, on our escape it was a button on control panel that you had to select yourself. Now on vline and it's a separate switch under the seat with two lights on.

Ah ok. The problem is, the local dealership - Marquis Motorhomes, Gomshall - have never fitted one before so am a little sceptical that when I pick it up they won't be able to explain it properly. Will wait and see and if not I'll call Elddis who have been amazing so far with any query I have had.

  • Winter pack - tank heaters for fresh and waste water plus fridge vent covers - £320
Looking at the Elddis website you dont get a lot for your money..
Fridge vent covers are usually supplied with a new van but otherwise you can get them easily off ebay and leisure accessory shops.
The tank heater for grey waste seems a bit pointless, just leave the tap open and drain into a bucket.
As for the Fresh water tank heater, be aware they take a fair amount of current so if your not on hook up can drain your battery quiet fast..
Elddis like my Autotrail are not winterised vans and the manufacturers idea to give winter protection is some lagging on tanks and pipes.. On some models there is a lot of pipework running under the van and it only takes one small part to be exposed and will freeze easily...

Hi Tonka

I am not paying for the pack it was meant to be on my MH when I bought it so as they are fitting it for free I thought I'd have it. .

Hi Tonka

I am not paying for the pack it was meant to be on my MH when I bought it so as they are fitting it for free I thought I'd have it. Will note what you say about draining the main battery though as I don't have my van hooked up when at home only unless the leisure battery needs topping up.
Also noted from MF and have a large foldable water container and pink spray that I used to use with old mh loo so will keep those handy and always drain down after every trip.
Thanks guys :xThumb:
