My K’Archer has stopped charging so needs replacing. I think that I read a posting about another make that could be used upside down. The windscreen is so big and also a long way away that I struggle reaching it never mind keeping the vac upright. I have searched for the posting but can’t find it. Any thoughts please.

We use our Kaercher upside down for the reaons you want to do so. We have no problem as long as we do not let the reservoir get too full.

We have had it 4-5 years and I think only charged it about twice, but then we probably only use it half a dozen times a year.

I use Karcher upside down and always do the bottom of the screen first, before the reservoir starts to fill

Yep and yep. I swipe from side to side of the screen with the Karcher horizontal and the occasional “we were inverted” Top Gun moment and never had any issues.

Oh i cant afford a vacuum and use a towel:xThumb:

Done that as well. Big good quality microfibre towel (an unwanted sailing prize) does the job when Karcher is left at home. Has to be big as an A class windscreen is huge. Karcher is both quicker and easier though

Not misted up yet...................

We have a Karcher in the house and use it inverted without problems

Alternative vacuums are
Beldray
AEG
John Lewis own brands

Not sure of what specs are but if that helps you great

you could always fit a new battery in your current karcher. about £10 on ebay and easy enough to do diy

We use a Karcher too, but I also remember someone posting about a different make of vac that can be used upside down without any ill effects.
If you find the post I would be interested in the make.

We have 2 Karchers the later ones are shorter and easier to use but more importantly don’t have the vents near the base where water cane out

I can only think those with no leaks must have the later model (y) the earlier ones spray water everywhere if more than an inch of eater in them and they are used horizontally

For those with Karchers that have a 'leakage' issue ... put a nappy on it! We have some cotton 'ankle socks' and fit one over the bottom of our Karcher so that if we have to turn it and risk water coming out of the side vents, the sock catches it and stops us getting an early shower! :xThumb:

I think Vax do one as well as Aldi and Lidl having their own versions too, be warned though, some of the little suckers don't suck that well, certainly not found any that are as good as a Karcher anyway.

bought a lidl one first but it was useless. then bought a karcher, very happy

Beat me to it @Minxy Girl . I wrap a cloth round it if the screen is very wet.

Was away doing Bruges and Valkenburg Christmas markets week before christmas.
Our window vac stopped working, tried recharging, charged for a minute and showed charged, still would not work.
Was at the market in valkenburg and saw a karcher mk1 for €30 so went back next day and bought it, he had 4, next day restocked to 10.
The new one worked perfectly.
Got home a few days later and switched on the original one and now it works good.
Strange, least I wont have to try to change the battery.
Prefer the new mk1 one for the van as it's a bit smaller than my older later model one, although on the new one have to take the bottle off to empty, the original one has a bung in the bottle.

I use the window vac to dry the shower room after use .much easier than a cloth or chamois

Oh I give up.

It's on amazon - looks like this:
