My Carthago 2018 windscreen pleated blind cord has snapped. Has anyone had this issue, it looks an absolute nightmare to fix as i cant see how you can get to the screws which look like they are about 2 inches from the front screen.

Do they fit the screen afterwards at the factory once the blind is installed i wonder

Has anyone else had this issue and does anyone know of a company around the Midlands area that may be able to fix this for me

Thanks

Presumably it is out of warranty ? Surely these cords should last more than 2 years maybe Carthago or the dealer will offer a bit of goodwill and fix it for you considering the cost of these vehicles.

No its still in warranty it was built late 2018 but not registered till March 2019 but dont really want to go to the dealer as i feel its a bit of a specialist job and dealers are jack of all trades but masters of none.

I have found a chap in chichester called breeze blinds who has done a few before so may just have a few days down there he only needs it for 2 hrs and really sounds like he knows his stuff

Ours broke after about a year. Camper UK were able to fix it and so far it is still working fine. Failing that call Reliance at Chichester for advice. Chris is very helpful.

Breeze Blinds at Poole did ours it took him about 30 mins and £30 ish

Forgot to say ours was still under warranty but they said it was a two day job and all cupboards had to be removed to replace the blind lol 😂

He is a nice guy .

The lane is a bit tight going down to his workshop but there is quite a few passing places also a nice little cafe at the marina

Just for future reference, just in case mine goes, can you continue to use the van and blind?

Im not sure too be honest,we are away and i have not yet used it as dont want it droppibg down or getting stuck further down so just leaving it alone

The windscreen drop down blind on our Pilote Galaxy failed about week ago when the cord snapped.
I asked two local dealers about the possibility of repair. Both said no and that it would have to be a new blind, costing £1000.00 +.
So doing a search on here, I found this thread from 2020 and gave Mark at Breeze Blinds a call. Yes, he has done a few of these (quite a few), it would be 1 to 2 hours work and cost about £75.00.
We live in Cumbria and Breeze Blinds is near Chichester but for the savings in cost and repair to an otherwise good blind it was worth a trip to the south coast.
We arranged a day with Mark and booked a pitch at the C&CC Chichester site. He came to the site and repaired the cord in situ.
He’s a really pleasant guy and did the work in under 2 hours for the price quoted.
So I can highly recommend Mark at Breeze Blinds if anyone else needs this repair.
And also thanks to Motorhomefun for all the invaluable help from this website.
