Window strut replacement.

Has anyone repaired/replaced the window strut on a double skinned window? I'm at a loss to see how it attaches to the inner skin and thus how to remove it properly. Alternatively I only really need to replace the black plastic locking mechanism between the two parts of the strut but again I am nonplussed about how to remove/ replace that part. I have (I think) sourced a suitable replacement but not instructions even on YouTube!
Any wisdom/help would be much appreciated. TIA

Had problems with the locking mechanism with caravan over 18 years use with it detaching. Never needed to replace the full strut, just wound the locking mechanism to get the nut near the end, apply superglue to nut surcafe that contacts when in place, then pop in the hole and wait for the glue to cure. Worked every time
