After standing doing nothing for month, one of the window blinds won't roll down. It's been left closed all the way up, so I can't even lift it up a bit to give it a kick start. What can I do, please? Do I need to remove the surround and get to the mechanism? Thank you for any help :)

What sort is it? Any chance of a photo?
Does it have a cover on it……?

You’ll probably have to remove the cover/surround - any screws visible?

It's the one in this pic :) Sorry it's not great but it's the only one I can find. There's a pull up black out blind and a pull down mosquito net. The pull up blind is stuck up. There are what look like screw covers on the surround. Do I need to remove those and then the screws to get to the mechanism, please? If so, is it easy to do, please? Thanks :)

Yes. Carefully prise out all the rubber cap covers. I use a long pin for this. And that will expose screw heads. These can be undone and complete frame will come off with both blinds.

Just be careful when you remove all the screws. It has been know for the outside part of the window to fall out as the frame and window are like a sandwich. Either put some tape on the outside frame or get some one to be there in it does fall out.Mine was held in tight but have heared of them falling out. Have a look on U.Tube. Some good videos on there.

Once you have got it off, you will be able to oncrease the tension of the spring. Fiddly but you will see one end has a round spindle, the other flat. If the blind is stuck up you will have to completely remove the blind being aware there is an internal spring, then roll it back onto the tube. Once rolled up reengage the slotted end and rotate the assembly such that the internal spring is trying to roll the blind up. Wind several times for a little tension hen rebook the round end.

Thank you, everyone, for your replies. I'll try to have a go at this today. If I'm successful, I also have the bathroom one to have a go at. When we were bringing the MoHo home after we'd bought it, there was an bang that came from the bathroom. On inspection, the mosquito blind, that had been down, had come unclipped and shot up with such force that it has disappeared into the frame!! We didn't worry about it but, now I know what to do, I can try to fix it :) Thank you again :)

Best not to travel with blinds up..And if possible don't leave them up when storing for a long time as it puts a lot of strain on the springs.I have curtains in mine so i just close them when not using motorhome.

Thank you. We don't travel with them up but, for some reason, the toilet mosquito blind had been left down. I didn't realise the springs could be affected after a long time, so thank you for that. We have curtain, too, so I'll use those from now on. Thank you.

Try spraying into the end with a silicone spray, leave for a few minutes then try. Make sure you protect and cover the fabric of the blind.

Thetford, or any make, toilet maintenance spray would do.
