Wind out awning (1 Viewer)

Should our wind out awning be lubicated and if so what to use please. We used it yesterday ( 34 degrees, but raining now) , it was hard work winding it. I don’t want to damage the material.

I regularly use a silicone spray lubricant on ours, it keeps it smooth and fairly quiet but if yours is stiff through lack of use it may need something to loosen things. I would try the silicone first though as it does not leave anything to collect dirt.
