Hello what do you good people think the best deal for data and WiFi etc
We are full timers and there 3 of us and use the phones and one computer a lot need good signal
I have a WiFi Ariel being fitted that take a chip but not got a company and plan yet
All the phone are with 3 at min

Where are you planning on going. If you are staying in the UK have a look at the unlimited data deals from the likes of Vodafone, 3 and EE. If you phones are on 3 it would pay to use a different company for the data, this will give you a choice if one provider doesn't work very well in a particular place. If you plan to travel around Europe you will find there is likely to be a cap of say 50 or 60 GB per month when used outside the UK. Check the fine print and don't trust anyone you speak to unless they can show the details in writing. :) I'm with Vodafone and I've found good coverage almost everywhere except some parts of Germany.

i assume you mean the 'set up' youre having fitted allows a sim to be fitted?

is there potential to also connect to 'free' wifi using your set up? if youre just in the UK then bt have lots of hotspots you can connect to for free, you need to have some sort of contract with them - not sure how it works, but it might be worth having a look??

This is a subject which I'm curious about because I've just received my new Samsung phone today, I'm with Three & I've upped my data usage to unlimited with 5G as part of the deal.

We only stay in the UK & most of the places we go have a reasonable 4g signal, I simply tether my laptop to the phone.
At the risk of sounding daft, how do I go about picking up better signals for my phone when in the motorhome?
Its simply something I haven't concerned myself with before.

You don't unless you count balancing it in a rooflight.
To get a better data signal you need a Mifi with external aerial connections. The Mifi on its own will often pick up a stronger data signal than a phone but you get the best performance with a MIMO aerial roof.

Here is my install.
