Hymer b690 starline
Morning all.
I unfortunately lost a rear wheel trim last year and since have been trying to source a new one, thinking it was a Mercedes product. The Motorhome in question is a 2014 Hymer B690 starline S. Anyway it wasn’t Mercedes but Hymer and are still available but at a price. £451 for the trim plus £76 for the Mercedes star in the centre plus £20 postage. REALLY! Not a chance am I paying that. If any Funster has a correct trim lying around I’d gladly pay a fair price for it.
Regards Martin

i think i would be considering selling your existing trims and buying some alloys with the proceeds .....

It's very annoying I know but the answer to your question is it's that price because they can get away with it and it's a short production run but with something that makes it unique.
Like (I'm guessing) the centre motif.

Is is possible to buy a new Merc one and make a Hymer centre motif either by copying and printing, then encapsulating or getting one 3D printed etc?

If possible, put plastic cable ties on wheel trims to prevent them from coming off.

They actually screw onto a frame behind the trim attached to the wheel and screws are located behind the Mercedes centre

If that was me, I would be buying off the shelf wheel trims and getting the missing centre merc logo 3D printed

Unfortunately Hymer really do overcharge on spare parts.
I've only owned old Hymers as they are excellent vans , however when anything does need replacing which fortunately isn't too often, the prices are eye watering .
Hymer don't make the wheels so the wheel trims will be available from a merc dealer much cheaper than hymer want, or has already been suggested by Diabalo I'd buy off the shelf stuff
