Whitley bay sites

Please can anyone help with any sites near Whitley bay, the CMC site is full for the weekend 24th August, all suggestions greatly recieved

Unfortunately I don't think there are any touring sites nearby.

I often use Old Hartley to visit one of my sons and have never found anything within reasonable travelling distance (for me) on the occasions that it's full.

If you are C&CC member there is a rally a few miles north between Blyth & Seaton Sluice (Gloucester Lodge Farm, South Beach).

If you fancy chancing wild camping, take the track to the right of the CMC entrance, there is a car park which backs on to the site. Have stayed several times .

It's all becoming clear now

Before I hung the uniform up, we'd often get reports of strange (un)gentlemanly goings on in that car park and never suspected it was motorhomers

For anyone thinking of staying there now, I think that particular problem ceased a good few years back and certainly when I've walked the dog through there recently, towards St Mary's lighthouse, I've seen nothing that would need reporting and often being pitched close to the site side of the hedgerow, I've never been disturbed by cars in the car park.
