Quick question which way do I turn to release
The hose from the gas bottle

I would guess it's left hand thread
So the spanner should go up to undo

clockwise at the bottle. Anticlockwise at the place your pic shows

Hose to bottle will be a POL..... spanner goes clockwise to Undo.
No idea what that is you pictured but most likely a normal thread... Spanner anti clockwise

Left hand thread nuts have a cut out on the corners of the hexagon to signify LH. No cut out signifies RH thread (normal)
