Can anyone recommend a printer for travelling, please? I normally come home with a list of created documents, which then need printing and organising, so I'm thinking of taking a printer with me so I can print them straight away. I don't have hundreds of pages, normally no more than 30-40, and I don't need colour. It must take A4, print to a reasonable quality and preferably contact via USB to a laptop. Oh, and the smaller, the better. Any ideas, please? :)

You could use a WiFi printer at home, then just send them to print?

I use a Canon Pixma in our van. Small and travels well.

I have a laser printer at home but everything is switched off when we're not there. I'll take a look at the Pixma. Thanks :)

The Canon Pixma TR150 is very compact but they are around £270. If you Google "travel printer" it will come up with a few options but none I could see were cheap.

I bought one a few years ago and never actually used it ( sold it on e bay ) , why do you need to print onto paper ?

Why not just get a cheap printer from Argos (or rather, the French equivalent ;) ) and use that? It probably won’t be small, but will be quite light and, most importantly, not expensive like a ‘travel printer’…….
HP or Epson or similar…….

Thanks, that's a good idea but sometimes we go away in the car so a travel one would take up less space. But thanks anyway :)

Something like this……?

Ok create them in Google Drive they can be accessed from anywhere in the world by anyone you choose or printed over Wi-Fi to your house.

For what it’s worth, price the ink up first it can make a massive difference if your printing reams(y)

We use very small HP printer. It is tiny but prints well, scans, copies, etc. I think it is priced under £50.

Doesn’t that one only connect via Wi-Fi….?

We use the Canon PIXMA TR150. It's small enough to fit under our seating whilst still in its poly packing. We used it to print out any documents needed whilst away last year. We always had printed vacc status, just in case the apps didn't work. We didn't get the battery and have never thought we should've.

It's worked ok every time we needed it. It was easy to link, to use it with the phones, tablets or laptop. Can also be plugged direct to laptop but never used it that way.

I wonder if the portable printers are dearer because they usually don't sell as much ink later and have to make it up on the printer price?. We do the Google drive stuff and for vaccination certificate etc last year downloaded to both phones.
