I feel like i'm opening a can or worms here but ................

which club should we join Caravan & Motorhome Club or Caravan & Camping Club?
We like to use small sites but now we have grandchildren may need a bit more singing & dancing site ocasionally.

When we go abroad we usually free camp & don't use sites. We are pretty much self sufficient but in the UK not much free camping around so we've decided to join a club & use CL'S.

In the grand scheme of motorhoming the clubs hardly cost a fortune so I say join both for added choice.

The C&C Club of course provide the THS (temporary holiday sites) which are good value and very convenient.

Camping and caravan club suits us as we have 2 grandkids with us full time. The THS sites are great value and some good locations.

And i would say neither and none of them.

Been in both currently with the c and cc dont particulary use many of thier sites but get a discount off camping in the forrest sites as a member. Usually save my membership price with these sites through the year alone.. Each to their own its what suits you. Wasnt a member of any for years and didnt make a difference to our camping.

Some folks hate them and others love them. We belong to both clubs.

I'll repeat what others have said. Join both for a year and then dump the one that you consider to be second best.

We never use club sites but we are members of both clubs so we can use the excellent CL's and CS's and even more excellenterish (good word) THS.

Caravan and Motorhome Club for us ,no deposit to pay for bookings, only had two problems in 15yrs (both caused by crazy wardens who were clearly in the wrong line of work )

I belong to both I love the magazines and you get your money back in 3 months by the discounts

We were in both. We are now just in the Caravan and Motorhome Club. We prefer their sites and really rate their insurance.

Same for us. Never used the C&CC sites. Had a shockingly high quote for their insurance so have now binned them altogether.

Horses for courses though, would suggest joining both for a year then review this again.

We in both and have rallied with both, but, the C&CC seem to have more holiday rallies and that suits us with the grandkids (y) (y)(y)

We are no longer with either, we joined C&CC because of their.180 day away house insurance. Do C&MC still insist on which side the habitation door should be, or have they sorted that out.

CAMC just say drive on pitch forwards for MHs with hab door drivers side.

The CAMC state that ‘The Site Staff will advise you where your outfit should go in relation to the marker.’ Which in my experience is either O/S rear to the peg, or N/S front to the peg (your choice). It's all about keeping a 6m fire gap between facing walls of vehicles, not door side.

We use both because geographically the sites are not evenly spread so it depends a lot on where you want to stay which club suits best.

We were with both clubs but dropped the CAMC after a year as hated having to book for the weekend rallies, didn't always know whether we'd be able to get away. With CCC no booking needed for rallies and also THSs. Far better value for money as far as we're concerned. Been with them 25 years this year so our annual membership will more than halve!

Neither in our case as we haven't toured in the UK within living memory, however in my youth I found both CLs and CSs useful. Their actual sites are best avoided and no cheaper than commercial sites anyway.
