Hi,

I've just bought a 2013 van (our first motorhome) that is fundamentally sound, but needs a new tabletop and worksurface. Can anyone recommend where I can source these from. Putting Mobilehome worksurfaces into a search engine only produces ordinary kitchen worktops. Finding it really frustrating.

Thanks all.

You could get a standard kitchen worktop and router out the parts that are cut out and any surplus material from the underside to reduce weight, but it will still too like you put in a kitchen worktop!

Just a thought.

Cheers James

I used an Aquamura board to replace my worktop and table top. It's a laminate faced multi ply board only 11mm thick but very stable. I've left the ply edges exposed and clear varnished them. Lots of laminate colours to choose from. It's available in 2400 X 1200 and I managed to get both out of one sheet. A whole sheet is only 24kg.

Excuse the untidy interior 🙄 Screenshot_20210701-175206.png

I had a piece of worktop left over from doing the kitchen so I used that in my van, by the time you have cut out for the hob and sink there is very little left. I also used it for the table but I did router it down to 20mm thick for that.

Clear cut conversions sell sometimes off cuts at a fraction of the price. They have a eBay shop as well.

Worktop express are worth a look, especially solid laminate worktops

Haha, the OP did say lightweight worktops, which solid laminate definitely isn't 😉

Not sure I agree with you on that. Ours are about 12mm thick ....
