What's this?

On the side of my Autotrail & alongside the water filler cap I have a mail threaded fitting which I presume
may be for connection to main water???
Any ideas how this works & what connectors would I need?

it's a self destruct button, what ever you do don't press it!

I've never had one, but is that the electrical connection/socket for a water pump you submerse in an external water carrier to fill the main onboard tank?

What ever it is, I'd try & change those screws for stainless
