Follwing Brexit there was much talk about ham sandwiches being binned etc.
Whats been the more recent experiences, are French Customs usually interested in milk or edam v cheddar?
Or is it best to travel very light and shop immediately?
Thanks
Mike

Over on the chunnel at the end of April and back last week. Nobody was interested in the slightest as to what my fridge did or didn't contain - although on the way back (in all seriousness) it was opened by French Border Security to check there were no illegals hiding in there!

At the moment, milk, spread, good local Cumberland sausage for tonight, white wine, rose wine, veg, beers, cheese, apple juice oh, and ice!

We had our fridge stocked as usual and no one checked.
On the return it seems like they check random vehicles, we only had the handle , steering wheel check and now check on wine.

Nothing, nadda, nowt. Not interested in the slightest in or out.

Nope they are not interested in any food especially for personal use.
We empty our fridge and freezer as normal.
Three times now since Bre***t

First time we crossed post Brexit we didn't take any "banned" foodstuff much to our family disgust however nobody was interested. The next time we filled the fridge/freezer with our normal red cross parcel food for the family - plus chicken, bacon etc. and again no problems whatsoever. It may have been that COVID was still rife and the customs didn't want to risk it. My thought is that the customs are taking a common sense approach and are not interested in personal consumption foods. It may have been initially a case of being a bit padantic following BREXIT but things have settled down now.
