Two,twelved faceted? Threepenny pieces. Why ?. I feel that the day i "Off Hire" them,i will need the Ton of other useless stuff being carried,because i will breakdown....Sad?

IKEA small tool kit (screwdriver, hammer, pliers etc), Workhorse small socket set from ALDI, duck tape, rescue tape, spray on adhesive, double sided foam tape, WD40 and plenty of replacement fuses which I have needed. I do have a Swift van so in some people's opinion my equipment list is probably too small!!!

That's a really good list, pretty much what I'm aspiring too.
I recently needed a 10mm spanner but only had a socket set with me, I need more spanners..
Have you considered carrying a mastic gun and sika?
It was only after someone asked if they could borrow a mastic gun (I didn't have one) that I began to notice what a popular tool it is...

Yes have both of those, should have been in the list, pretty essential for emergency repairs!

Black nasty is a must, during our trip around France last year was unfortunate enough to have our Wing Mirror 'destroyed' (despite having mirror protectors) but did a fine repair job with June's Pink makeup mirror a black bin bag and a roll of black nasty. Also take the Mini Tool Kit, Gerber Multi-tool, Spare Fuses, Velcro Straps and a length of bungee elastic plus a whole box of various electric plugs, connectors and adaptors.

Well the box or tin itself is of course the most important thing for when you find a screw rattling about somewhere, cos you never know where the hell it's come from, so you have to keep it. So, you better put a screwdriver in there too - one of each (straight and Phillips)

We have all sorts of everything that others have mentioned - but I haven't seen Blu-Tak on other folks lists. Ours is kept in the van.

My top must have are cable ties, one size, 300mm black only
White duck tape. Blends with the van then.
10,12,13,17mm spanners which fit everything thats needed
22,25mm socket with T and extension bar
1 electrical,1 philips and 1 flat head screwdriver
Stanley knife and replacement blades
Hacksaw, full size and junior also a small wood saw
Pliers, and a pair of those electrical cable stripping/crimping ones
Two small partitioned trays with electrical crimp connectors,screws,nails,washers,nuts and bolts
Spare hookup male and female connectors
Multi tester
Pencil
WD40
Silicon spray
Disposable gloves
Tape measure
Cordless drill
1/2 dozen drills


Another locker:
Sikaflex with gun and spare nozzles, because they always dry up between use.

Gas leak detector, consisting of a jam jar with fairy liquid/water and toothbrush


In the van:
Plastic container with spare bulbs for the van and the trailer including philips and flat screwdriver
Electrical screwdriver and small philips in the solar control cupboard along with spare fuses

Roof box:
I have to put my dish and wind turbine up from the roof so I keep a plastic tub in the roof box with specific tools for the job

Spare adjustment bolt for the dish alignment
selection of Solar cable connectors

LOL - I hunted the house for a fairly recent pair of shoes last week. Box was there but there was nobody in......... Two days later I remembered they were still in the 'boot' of the Moho!

But when we're away and Pete says 'Get me the left-hand widget wiggler to do this please, cos I'm holding it together at the mo, so I can't ' how come he never knows where he's stashed it? Or he'll ask me 'Where have 'we' put that?' Well how should I know that, dearheart, when I didn't even know you could get them - let alone what they're used for!

I find that the kiddies lunch boxes from the pound shop work well for small items like leads, chargers, med's, multi-tools, spare bulbs etc. Just use a hair drier to remove the sticky logo and hey presto, a nice box for tut. I buy different coloured ones and use a label printer for that 'professional' touch.

Should be included in the bare essentials...duck tape, Swiss Army knife , WD 40 , corkscrew [if not on the SAK ] list...

I have a liking for the Really useful box range. I brought specific sized ones for different things. smaller ones for bathroom cupboard, underwear/socks even the jars of spices in the kitchen as well as 2 larger 19ltr ones for other food/ingredients.
In the overhead cab we've the larger ones with any lighter stuff, mainly Emma's art and sewing/knitting materials. All labelled so we can just grab the box we want.

Sad really I know, Yhink I need to get out more.
