My answer to one of these power bank Eco Flo thingies was to set my 100ah Lithium battery into a Bison Trolling motor box . This allows use of the built in 12v socket and usb and I also had it wired to my inverter . I brought the unit inside yesterday to charge the battery using my new charger. After the battery was fully charged I picked the box up and had a tiny moment of contact between neg and pos wires giving a quick spark .
What happened next was strange .
The “ test “ button on the box stopped working and then I started to smell and see burning plastic . This was coming from under the “” test” button . I disconnected the battery from the box and when I opened the underside this is what I found .
Somehow the short has created a fire in the circuit board . I was totally unaware these boxes had so many wires and potential for things to go wrong . I will be contacting Bison to see if they are aware of this .
There seems to be too many things to go wrong
. I won’t be using this set up again . The LI battery will be staying away from anything that complicates the set up .
