Can I use and old lawnmower lead as an extension lead for my trickle charger?

I used quite a lot of old lawnmower cable in my van together with old washing machine, vacuum cleaner and washer cables.
The washing machine cable striped down to its three separate cables is handy for 12v bits.

Like this.
I cringe when I see binned appliances with the power cord still attached!

Original recycling.....

Yes.
Even a 15 amp charger will take less than an amp at full power, lawn mower cable will probably be at least 5amp rated.

None. I cut them off the hoovers and mowers that my neighbours leave out for the totters. I am a great believer in recycling as I am a tight git.
Just got to scrounge a female socket to put on the end.

Oops thanks for the info

You might find that the cable is only 2-core, not 3-core. That will be fine for 'double-insulated' appliances. Some of them even have a plastic earth pin on the 3-pin plug. But be careful because if it looks like a standard mains extension someone might use it for an appliance that needs to be earthed for safety. It's best to use a 2-pin socket, with a matching plug on the trickle charger.
