There must be someone with a pioneer double din unit....?

I have a Pioneer Avic F9 770 dab unit , standard fit in Rapido A class , sat nav, two reversing camera inputs , dab radio , sub woofer, plus four speakers , cd / dvd, touch screen.
superb bit of kit . A bit over complicated lots of menus and sub menus.
Love it .

We have one. Halfords supplied and fitted it with a windscreen DAB aerial which was rubbish.

We used the aerial suggested by Andy Techno which we fitted to a plastic panel on the bonnet (with a sheet of aluminium on the inside of it) and it now works a treat.

A brilliant bit of kit.

my rapido has the avh 2400 or 2500

works well but hard to get satnav updates

I’ve got the AVIC Z810DAB-C and find it spot on and has campsites preloaded.
Plus you can enter your vehicle dimensions.
I’ve always had Pioneer and did have a Kenwood once that I had in a VW but didn’t like it.
Personally for me, Pioneer are far superior and easier to use.

Thanks guys and girls.... I was thinking of the one I’ve linked to as I don’t want a sat-nav built in one as I use garmin and other means for navigation.... just want dab and a better sound...

We fitted this one last year, getting the correct size mounting kit was difficult but succeeded in the end< need to get a better DAB ariel the windscreen one in naff. However plugging the I phone into the USB socket is great to get Deezer and any radio stations, plus its got Apple Car Play which we are still playing with, as we only get to use it when we are away in the van.

Can you download other POI'S like Camper Contact?

I know it's not pioneer but I have just bought this. On the day I bought it for whatever reason fleebay were running a 10% off over X amount campaign so it came in at under £300.

I like to"future proof" as much as possible. It does seem very responsive and fitted straight in to the pioneer ducato DD opening with no need for a fitting kit.

I haven't tried everything out in on operating environment yet, ie I haven't been anywhere
except my font car parking spot.

I you hang on a couple of days I'll post a small review of my set up so far.(y)

We have the same. There is a way to connect an iPad or tablet to use as a sat nav. I did it once but can’t remember how now!
It links to our phones and tablets easily enough and seems to work well.
we don’t use it much though, too much else to see and do!

don't know if you can download POI s , will have to check instructions.

these are the simple instruction I have found for downloading poi s

1. On a computer, download and install the Google Earth and AVC FEEDS computer programs (available free of charge at <Link Removed> and <Broken Link Removed>).
2. Launch Google Earth.
3. On the left side of the screen, within the "Places" section, you will see "My Places". Right click on "My Places", move the mouse over "Add", and then click on "Folder". Type in the name you wish to call the new folder. For this example; "Thrift Store".
4. In the search field, at the top left corner of the program, enter your search criteria. For example: "Thrift stores near Long Beach CA". Google Earth will now provide results for Thrift stores near Long Beach California.
5. Right click on a location. Select "Save to My Places".
6. You will see the location appear in the "My Places" section on the right. Drag this location into the new folder you created, "Thrift Store".
7. You can drag and drop any additional places of interest into the "Thrift Store" folder without having to perform the "Save to My Places" step.
8. Once you have all the locations you want within the "Thrift Store" folder, right click on the folder and select "Save Place As". You will be provided the option to name the file and the location of the file. You will need to change the "Save as type" drop down to KML (*kml). Once you know where the file is stored and it is properly named, click on "Save".
9. Close out Google Earth and launch the AVIC FEEDS program.
10. Click on Menu, upper right corner, and select "Select Hardware". You need to select the model number of your Navigational unit. If prompted, you will need to restart the program.
11. Click on "POI Creator".
12. Click on "From KML File". You will be prompted to locate the .kml file you saved with the Google Earth program.
13. The AVIC FEEDS program will populate the POIs from Google Earth.
14. Load an SD or Micro-SD card into the computer.
15. Click on the "Save to SD" icon.
16. Highlight the proper drive location and click on "OK". The program will say "Save Complete", click "OK".
17. Close out the AVIC FEEDS program.
18. Properly eject the SD or Micro-SD card from the computer.
19. Insert the SD or Micro-SD card into your Pioneer Navigational unit.
20. Press the Destination icon.
21. Select the AVIC FEEDS icon.
22. You can select which POI you would like to navigate to, from the list you created.

If getting a Pioneer check the power requirements, a lot draws loads of power even in standby. Loads of Carthago owners with them wake up to flat batteries on the morning.

We have a Pioneer but no idea what the model is but it is a double din unit. An important point; get a unit that has a ‘carplay’ facility as you then don’t need a designated navigation unit as it shows on the screen all your iPhone apps etc.
We have had an issue with fm with some interference- dab is perfect. Had the head unit changed plus some suppressor type things installed but still an issue. There is also a designated arial on the roof so work in progress.
Plus we also had a rocker switch installed so we can have it on or off separately from the ignition.

We have this model in the MH, great unit, no niggles at all !! No problem with power drain. Only thing I would have liked it to do was have the ability to stay on after ignition off, but got round that by building a delay circuit which I fitted into the "power on" wire.

Are you fitting it into a Ford cab ? If so you do not need to buy any extra plastic surrounds as the Ford radio surrounds do the job.

As to the aerial, I fitted a £15 Halfords aerial on top of the awning box and get great reception.

Thanks, just what I needed to hear.... it’s going in a fiat with a double din already fitted...??

We have a Pioneer SPH-DA130DAB

In the van and the car, does all we need and probably many other things:)

Main reason was Apple CarPlay
