What is this please

Its on a Fiat Ducato 2002 Royal, next to the fresh water hole near the tv outlets, has wires in back, guessing a 12v supply but what plug is that for?, as you can see not exactly large. Has a water tight cap and lid. Any help appreciated.

You could also use it for any 12v device outside such as a TV or lamp when you make a lead with appropriate 2 pin plug on the end.

Yes, but you'd need to know what the cable and fuse will allow to be powered via the outlet so you don't overload it.

Definitely an external 12v socket for a water pump, however looking at the state of the screws I'd be tempted to remove them, clean the sides of the inlet casing up and make sure the sealant is good, then put in stainless steel screws.

Good point. Not always easy to find the fuse for these sockets though because it trial and error in the breaker box should sort it.
