Does anyone know what this pipe is for?, it leads from pantry cupboard, behind cooker and then heads into the bathroom. I cannot find the other end of it . I can feel cold air coming out of it but cannot find the end of the pipe, i have looked under the motohome too?

That was my initial thought, but with the heating on or off cold air comes out of it. Feels like outside air and feels like atmospheric pressure.

Then a ventilator to reduce damp???

It would help if you told us what motorhome you have got so those with similar ones may be able to help. Mind you it looks like is is a DIY bodge rather than anything fitted by the converter.

Looks a bit like a DIY job to bring hot or fresh air into the area.

Looks like a small 30mm heating pipe they are normaly coupled to the larger pipes with a T or Y connector you need to find the other end may have partly come adrift.

Doubt if it's DIY manufacturers often do it like that ,have a look at where the pipes come up behind seat backs you will find they are often left like that.

We have pipes like that following all the water pipes inside the van where they come up out of the double floor, and one that goes around the Electroblock unit under the drivers seat. They arre connected to the heating as I can feel warm air coming out of them.

All the other heat vents work fine, including the one in the bathroom - unless the pipe has become disconnected from a T junction, seems strange that they would duct heat under the pantry cupboard without connecting it to an outlet vent. All other heat duct pipes have a plastic vent connected to the end of them. The other thing about this is the fact that cold ambient air is coming out of this pipe and if it was merely disconnected from the T junction in the bathroom I find it hard to believe the air would be this cold, in fact I would hope that no air would be coming out of this pipe. Hmm, well I cam going to have to dismantle the bathroom cupboard to get a better look at the pipe - a job for another day.

Silly question... and not seen it on a motor home but it’s not a awning. Vent. That has come off the main manifold is it
On our last caravan we had a vent to outside to heat the awning

Maybe it’s a gas extracting pipe, comes into use automatically if you’re gassed in France. Could save your life.:D

Pretty certain it is not, pipe terminates under kitchen storage unit, I have followed it as far as I can (without taking things to bits) and it leads to the right, firstly behind cooker, then behind water boiler and then heads into the bathroom. From there it looks like it goes behind the shower - I spent some time under the van looking and it does not look like it exits anywhere externally. But the direction it is heading, it COULD link up with the bathroom heating blower as this is to the right of the shower. Seems strange to have an open ended pipe with no vent attached to it though (every other heating outlet in the van does and the end of this pipe could of easily been attached to the side of a kitchen unit to expel hot air (if indeed that is its purpose)).
curiosity killed the cat, next weekened I will take the bathroom units apart and find out where the hell this thing goes (or at least is supposed to go :-))

lol, it is putting air into the van, not extracting it :-)

That’s not a pipe, it’s a tapeworm:eek:

I actually connected a tube to the end and started blowing my vape from my ecig down the pipe in huge clouds to see if I could see the vapour appear anywhere :-), vapour started coming back out due to the airflow through the pipe, so the only thing I had at hand to blow air was a can of compressed air, so I attempted to force the vapour through the pipe - anyway didn't work and solved bugger all - lol.

We have a number of pipes like that that just end in odd places to prevent condensation in various places. One end connects into the hot air system, the other end just ends.

This is the only pipe in the entire van that "just ends", maybe it should be connected to the hot air system and for some reason or another has become disconnected. I will get to the bottom of this next weekend, man on a mission :)

Can you borrow a ferret? :)

I wish, I have a snake cam, tried that too - just more pipe followed by more pipe - lol

If it follows the water pipes it could simply be a way to stop them freezing in very cold weather when you're using the MH as you'd have the heating on as head would radiate out of the pipe's length as well as the end. Is there cold air coming out of the normal heating ducts when the heating is turned off? Not blowing but just feeling cold?

Have you got a roof vent?
It could just be a ventilation pipe to help with circulating air through the van.

No air at all coming out of the other heating vents when the heating is off :-(

There is one roof vent but that connects directly to the extractor above the cooker

Perhaps a previous owner had a pet hamster and this was his 'fun run'! :D
