There are plenty of posters saying that they would rather be in their MH in a warm climate, well stocked with beer and wine, than in their home.

So what would "self isolate" mean if you get the symptoms of Corona virus?

Is there enough food in your van?
Do you have a sufficient supply of water for 2 weeks?
Will you need to empty the loo in that period?
Have you got a sufficient supply of electricity?

Would you fasten a sign to the door warning people of your problem?
Would you be prepared to "go out" in the middle of the night, anticipating that there will be no-one else around?
Do you have a mask to wear or will you use duct tape to fasten a tea-towel round your mouth and nose?

If the fever takes hold, do you have enough Paracetamol to ease your pains?
Are you confident of your ability to converse with local health providers?

I'm not criticizing anyone's decisions: just asking how well you are prepared and how you feel you will cope.
Good luck and safe travels.

Good points, the answer of course is unless you’re pitched in the middle of nowhere, you can’t without help. In most cases that helper would be your partner who would have to sleep/live outside for at least 2 weeks with all the necessary resources to do so.

Well I live in isolation usually!
No change for me!!
I work outside, usually not near anyone, or near enough for them to cough on me!
don’t shake hands, don’t touch anybody!

unless it’s carried by my trowel, bricks and muck, or hiding in my tool bucket, I should be ok!! Fingers crossed!!

I’m sure I’m not the only one who lives day to day like this ?

It’s a question I have asked myself. We live in a very rural area ... I could happily stay here, walk the dog avoiding the odd person I might meet (usually don’t), having our veggie box and milk delivered outside the door or even at the gate. Would that count as self isolation ...

Responses so far seem to be from "house-based" folk. What about you "travelers", at whom my questions were mainly aimed?

Two decades ago Dorset Lady and I would have had no qualms about self isolating abroad. However, we are now in our mid 70's and we both have pre-existing medical conditions that will most probably exacerbated the effect of Covid 19 on us; me in particular. If we do catch it then I suspect we will both need extensive if not intensive, medical support to survive. Taking that into account we are not keen to be away from home until the problem is controlled; if ever.

The way that it is spreading it seems that it may be saving of planet Earth by the potential population reduction, especially of the demographic it seems to threaten most.

Self isolated? My dream!!!! I would just fill up Max with all my jars full of nice home made stuff. All sorts of tins I have in a big box ready to be thrown into Max whenever and dry food I have , and also seitan , soja, and tofu veg steaks which don't turn bad before a long time (those I have go up to june) , milk and coffee ... and off I go! No one allowed to get in Max.... oh wahoo ! Being a childminder AND a stadium keeper I see people all the time. I do not have a private life the way you can have yours. If I want a shower in MY house, it's always a challange to have it without being disturbed, hence I get up very early so I make sure I have a little bit of a normal life. So what may look as difficult time for some would just be paradise for me. I always have food to put in Max..... as I always dream I could go away for whatever reason. That would be the best reason ever! INDEED!

That is of course in the unlikely event that they don't have it too!!

Stay at home, don't go out, don't entertain visitors.

Shop online and have the delivery person leave everything at the front door.

I might chance a 3:00am visit to the 24 hour Asda, touch nothing except what I have bought, payment by card at the self-service checkout.

Speak with no one, touch no one, touch nothing and drive straight past the 24 hour Starbucks!
