All the gear, and no idea!
As per title, got no damp as such at moment, but I think I’d like to get a meter and check it myself, say every 3 months or so. I like to do some stuff myself ie servicing cab end of things, my Harley etc, so I thought I’d keep the hab in tip top shape. My rationale would be I could nip it in the bud if I get it, especially when it’s out of warranty!!
So which are the good meters out there and which ones are about as good as an ashtray on a motorbike??

I have 2. An extech mo257 which is non invasive as it is painless. Very handy for a quick check but does have limitations as it can pick up rubbers and some other things that give a reading like structural support. I compliment this with a protometer mini which alot of dealers use. I got this to match what the dealer was doing when they checked mine and tried to knock me down on px so I could do same to them.

If I can provide anything else let me know

This is the one I use Ady .

When I bought my Brit van last May after getting in and out of hundreds of new and used brit and euro vans the thing that struck me most on 85% of the used vans was the smell, not saying damp but they smelled of various things cigs on sum, pets on others and to me, old rapido’s have a unique smell as do old burstners. My van had just come in two days previous, no prep no clean, as is, and do you know what, no smell at all, that’s what we liked about it. Being 2.5 yrs old and with 12k on the clock it had certainly been used, now it’s just shy of 20k on clock. We will change it in about 5 yrs for our “FINAL” van and it will more than likely be German and winterised?
