Whale pump problem (1 Viewer)

On a couple of occasions now we have gone to use the motorhome, filled the water tank, turned the pump on ant the panel, gone to run the taps and no water, pump not running. I have taken the pump out and stripped it down, could see no problem, reinstalled it to work fine after that. Anyone else experienced this? The motorhome is only 2 years old and not a lot of use so don’t think it’s been over worked. It’s a Whale Water Master blue pump.

The motor isn't serviceable and the brushes wear out. Ours was 7 or so years old though

Replace it with a Shurflo Trail King . best pump ever .. and if ever required you can buy a service kit.. They are standard fit in American motorhomes

Ours took 4 amps and wouldn't start, fortunately the battery monitor showed the current draw.

Yes I bought a 30psi sureflow. A spray of WD40 into the motor got it going again for 2 weeks though

Last time I priced a repair kit for sureflo pump it was not much dearer just to get complete new pump..

I got a Sureflow pump from Halfords earlier this year and was pleasantly surprised, that they were the cheapest about £45 . I checked the price of the service kit and that was about £40 of ebay. But now I have 2 spare pumps in the shed that only need a service kit . So if anyone needs a pump motor ,I have 2 available .
