I thought I would share this although im sure most of you have done this or perhaps not lol :ROFLMAO: Ive taken our New Rapido 896F a 3650kg plated vehicle to the local Weigh bridge so as to establish what it weighs empty, with the following added by the dealer at point of sale, A 4mtr Awning / TV Aerial / Solar Panel and its Automatic so a heavier gearbox, it also had half a tank of Fuel & Water on board and 2 x Gas cylinders.

She came out @ 3300kg so not a lot of Payload left, im now calculating what everything we carry weighs its all on the Garage floor from our previous Motorhome waiting to be weighed then loaded, if it comes in legal then job done but if doubtful I might get it weighed again when fully loaded.

Ive done this so as to be road legal and not let the Insurance company have a way out of any claim I might make ibn the future which for me equals peace of mind.

Might be useful to check axles individually. For us it was easy to overload rear axle before we upgraded it.

Yes I got both individual Axle weights aswell (y)

All the heavy stuff was onboard. You've still got 300kg left (assuming you don't blow one axle first). You'll be OK, no?

Yeah I think its going to be ok close but ok, the limit in the Garage is 150kg which is well within the limit (y)

I take it that’s two full gas cylinders so there’s a little more Lea-way there but it’s going to be a bit tight I think🤔

Our 886f weighed in at 3620kg fully loaded with moi, missus & dog all on board. Uprated it to 3700kg which didn't require any suspension uprating. Also took everything out and weighed it replacing anything we had a lighter alternative and ditching the "Why are we carrying it" stuff (none of which we've missed) now run fully loaded at about 3580kg.
Bonus of uprating is lower Road Fund Licence, downside you need a C1 driving licence.

We are in the process of weighing what we need to carry and might have to review that lol we are at 3650kg from New but might if we have to uprate a tad more not sure is it incremental rises or does it jump to the next weight whatever that may be ?

Normally the on the light chassis the max is 3850, with axle weights at Rear 2000kg, Front 1850kg, most vans on the light are normally either 3500 or 3850. Often to take full advantage of the increase you need to upgrade the rear axle to 2240kg, which requires air assist on the rear suspension and if you have 15" wheels tyres changing for 225 section.

3650 :giggle: Yeah I guess I can others have and its been a paper exercise (y)
I have a Rapido 7065+ plated at 3850Kg on a light Alki chassis.

The RFL changes above 3500kg it becomes a PHGV.

I was told by SV Tech that 3700kg was the maximum without the suspension modifications. I think mine is the Fiat chassis not an Alko
Mines a Fiat Chassis and Highbridge where I purchased from seem to spec all there Rapidos @ 3650kg from day one.
