Good afternoon funsters
The only way I can clean the roof of my van is to get on it
I own an Autotrail Dakota 2011
What weight can it realistically take ?
Regards
Chris

Somebody that knows more about the model will hopefully answer soon. I am 17 stone and regularly walked on my Coachbuilt MH. But then it was built 1999 and I was told by many "they don't build them as strong as that any more".... Autocruise also had the equivalent of a monocoque roof and so no transverse seams to worry about breaking the sealant.

I would be concerned with walking on the roof of our 2013 AT Savannah given it's a floating roof and it has two seams across it. Significant additional weight at one side of the seam could open the joint up.
I wash the roof on ours using a step ladder and brush similar to this.

Our N&B has a factory fitted ladder so I bloody-well hope it is strong enough!

Did Autotrail offer a ladder?

Ask them

Ours has (Fiamma dealer fit-I think) but only use it to check the roof, not go on it.
Two reasons, 1) as above and 2) emmmm, I'm built for comfort not speed!:whistle2:

Get some scaffold boards across with some foam floor underlay underneath it to protect paint work, it spreads the load and you will be fine 👍
