Loaded up the new e-bikes on the back, full tank of diesel, full tank of fresh water, full underslung LPG tank. A months worth of food and wine (Usually buy local but Norway is frighteningly expensive, hence tinned fruit and lot's of tinned /packeted provisions).

And the weighbridge says 4,350Kgs so I'm just about in rated @ 4,500kgs.

It's the heaviest I've been, but I guess anything within the rating must be ok......

I wouldn't want it any heavier tyres are 116 rated. (1250kgs a corner).

Do you know what the axle weights are? You might be on or even over the limit on one but still under max vehicle weight.

2100Kg front 2250kg rear, It's those ebikes on the tow ball doing the damage, they are 22kgs each and the thule towball rack is rated at 45kgs. So it's a near run thing. What I've done is insert an eyebolt in the rear wall of the camper and strapped the bike to the eyebolt, stop it swinging on the towball and putting too much strain on the coupling:

Hmm, you’re within the tow bar limits but, the question is: are you within the eyebolt mounting limits?

I’m not sure that’s a modification I’d have made.

I agree with bigtwin i dont think i could have drilled a hole in my MH like that but each to there own

What thule rack do you have as I have a thule rack I put on the back of my 4x4 with 2 electric haibikes on it and it is solid it does not wobble around at all it's very very stable but it is a proper ebikes rack rated at 60kg for 2 bikes

Just wondering why have a full tank of fresh water? You won't be too far from civilisation so why not travel with, say, 25% of fresh which should be enough for 2 days or so? Just wondering??

I thought about it quite a bit, but the moho is nearly 12 years old and it's no use getting too precious about now. I bought it new in 2008 and have learnt some of it's secrets. The bolt passes through a structural beam in the rear wall to plate on the inside. The strap stops the rack swinging back from the top. The total torque is only 3 Newton Kilos compared to 60NK's at the towball however it does ensure the 44kgs is applied directly on the towball. Thule racks are a quality product, I'm sure as a qualified engineer, it may not be most attractive solution however it is sound.

Hi Burgo i won't necessarily travel full of water but i thought at the weighbridge I'd measure it as a worst case scenario. We'll be eating and drinking our way down thru the payload to. As long as we keep walking and cycling we won't be converting food kgs to human kgs. Then we'll be okay.

Tyres rated at 116 is load rated at 1160kgs per corner
