East Neuk Fifer S
Exp
I'm a newbie
I have drained down the Fifer for the winter but still use it as a day van for trips out.

My query regards using the Webasto thermo top for heating even though I have drained the boiler.
The notes I have say that the hot water can be run without the heater but don't mention running the heating without water in the boiler.

I don't really want to have to keep filling the water and draining it each time we use the van if it isn't necessary.

Yes, you can, no problem, we regularly use ours with the water drained.
It states on p15 of my manual ...
"please note, the heating system can be operated even when the water system throughout the van has been drained down."
I can send you the manual if you don't have one.
How are you getting on with your Fifer? we love ours.

Thank you Pete for your reply. that is reassuring to know.

I had been looking at the East Neuk notes given to me by Darren when we collected it two years ago. I do have a Webasto manual in the van but find it a bit to technical. Perhaps I should have looked a bit harder.

We love the van. For such a small vehicle it packs in just about all the kit you could need. It is so easy to park and drive. The build quality of the conversion is exceptional. We had a Bessacarr coachbuilt for a while and the quality of the Fifer is in another league.

If we were to replace it we would go for the Fifer M next time as the toilet area is a little tight on ours and the extra length would make life a little easier

We saw a second hand 's' at a show a while back, loved the slide out toilet arrangement, very clever. Not sure if they make the 's' any more, just the 'm' and 'l' versions now I think.
We've had ours just over a year now, as you say, build quality is top notch and Darren is always a phone call away if we have any queries, which have been few.
I've attached the Fifer manual just in case you don't have it...

Pete

Thank you for that.

Your manual is a lot more comprehensive than the one that Darren supplied with ours and has lots of additional information.

Good boxing Day reading.
