Disregarding the potential savings, or not, of using red diesel. Isn’t it cheaper still to use fixed lgp tank fuel? I’m sure I pay less per litre for it than red diesel would cost.

Must depend on the amount of lpg/diesel used per hour and the cost I don't know how the calorific values compare. I like our diesel heater for convenience of always having diesel with us its easily available and one less thing to fill . I have never noticed any reduction in the level of the tank but we move on most days so are unlikely to. That just leaves gas for the fridge and water heating/cooking so it lasts for ages.
