Along the way we stopped at Monesterio, the following day i got the bike out and we took a ride to the Roman ruins of Regina. Walking down to the amphitheater I spotted shrikes, unfortunately didn’t bring my bird book so couldn’t identify them. There’s also a Moorish alcazaba up on the hill to visit.

If you return via Monfragüe and stop opposite the Gypsies Leap cliff look low down near the water. This is where the Black Storks nest. There won't be many and they are difficult to see, binoculars more or less essential.

We have left Vila Real and dropped the bike off at the dealer in Loule for a service tomorrow, found a car park on P4N behind Lidl. Went out for lunch to a recommended tapas bar and had Bifanas and wine, very warm today. Rather expensive for fuel here.
If you have a KTM, this is the place to get it serviced with very cheap rates compared to Treasure Island.

After collecting the bike from MotoFM which was serviced at a very reasonable rate of €133, we drove down to Parc da Galé into a perfect pitch. Will stay here until next week.

From memory they were close to the water, probably no more than 20 feet above it. The griffons were nesting all over the upper part of the cliff.

Well that’s as good a reason to head back to Portugal now I have purchased one of these, shame I probably won’t have a motorhome to take it in

We moved to Alvor today, onto the old Aire. Numerous vans parked but sadly no facilities. 
Don't like those fuel prices....1:39€ For diesel near our apartment....in Mazarron

We left the old Aire in Alvor today and are now at Porto Covo, but on ground outside the football stadium.
This was parked next to us at Alvor, wonder what Tam thinks of this Vario 814D conversion
It’s on a 4x4 chassis.
Reminded me of my first KTM SuperDuke as it was also EU56,which I wish I still had it.
