Aire Watten aire

Only used Watten once it’s not a bad spot but a bit tight getting in to the canal road on a sharp bend if coming in from town, the aire was fenced in and not a lot of space to manoeuvre, emptying and water on LH side as you enter didn’t have to pay then but that was back in 2013/14

Only tried there once, one space entirely occupied by someone's toad, so nor room for us.

We just carried on and I can't recall where we finished up, so it must have been OK else I'd remember!

Same when we tried never bothered to try it again.

Nice quiet aire. Is a bit prone to bad parking, but aren’t they all. Short walk across river to town that has restaurant, butcher, 3 bakers, 3 cafe/bars, little supermarket 40 mins from eurotunnel. Can get busy. Service there at a cost, token from local shops required.

Stayed 1 night last December on the way home, only us there tbh until about 10pm when another moho parked up. The little village across the bridge was open as regards shops and cafe's, no pubs or restaurants open due to lockdown.

Found a great pizza place, and i mean really nice for takeaways and a lovely patisserie, would we stay again, yes definitley

We turned up at Watten early evening one time and couldn't get on the aire but managed to park on the car park of the village/town hall building next door. We tried to get on there another time with no success. I believe it has been extended recently.

After a struggle we got onto Watten Aire with our 30’ RV , a small but convenient stop a short walk from local shops .

We really like this Aire and have stayed there many times. Since they extended it, there are about 20 spaces. It's a lovely peaceful spot, overlooking the river, and we have always felt very safe there.

I normally use st-omer but tried Walton on funster recommendations, wasn’t to busy , nice enough for a night
