Waterworks not working as it should. Over the two months the van has been in storage and the water tanks were emptied. Off to Cornwall for a few days, filled up tank to 100%. Arrive at camp site and set up etc. Started filling the kettle for a cup of tea and found only a very low pressure/dribble of water coming out of tap.

Heating working ok
Can hear pump working
Dribble of water coming out of cold tap
Nothing coming out of hot tap
Hot tap a few spits and spurts seem like there may be an lock
As heating is on,the spits and spurts which is coming out of the hot tap are cold
Water soon went down to 50%

Any suggestions please.

Have you closed boiler drain valve? In past I have forgotten..... Or any other drain valve.

Check frost valve. It's been cold Up North (in Devon)

Do you have a twin water pump, if so one half may have gone down. This happened to mine but the other half was working but only on low pressure. Changed the pump and all ok. (y) Or if it’s been layed up maybe just stuck, try tapping it.

Succeeded the same way

Check outside the van when you turn a tap on to see if there's water coming out of the boiler drain valve, it could be the non-return valve has stuck open or like ours has lost the valve part of the T piece.
This gave us the same symptoms you're getting.

Try all above.I had a similar problem. Mine was the pump diaphragm. I got a replacement kit from LEISURE shop. Not had any problems since. It looks like yours is a air lock.

I has a similar thing earlier this year in France after arriving at a campsite. The feed from the pump to the splitter to thw water system had come off.

Put a fair bit of water in the garage floor until Mrs Spawn alerted me to something was wrong. Was a complete ba****d to get to but pushed back on a tightened jubilee clip and dried with towels and all was good.

Has the water boiler filled up?

Have you checked the filters on the taps?

Do you have a pump fillter................is it clear!!

Many for all help and suggestions. The reason is that the frost protection button had popped out. The reason I missed this is that it had been in storage while moving house. Normally when it is at home I have a oil filled radiator in the van.

Thanks again, it fact it’s was a “funsters” who sorted it for me.

Our water system needs 20 litres just to fill the water boilers let alone all the pipe work. The water tank is only about 100 litres filled I think
