You probably already know this BUT a watering can to fill-up your water tank if it's running low and you don't want to move your van is a brilliant idea. We saw this in Italy and LOVED it!

Jan wasn't so keen on it ... ... only ten more to go

always carried one .. useful for topping up the toilet water too:Smile::Smile:

My fresh water tank holds 5 watering-cans-full.

Have you ever tried carrying 5 watering cans full of water??? :Rofl1::Rofl1:

Seriously though, it's a brilliant way to top up - I've been doing it for years.

I rarely top my tank up using my hosepipe and always fill it using 5 litre bottles. Better exercise than fannying about with a hose that I'd have to dig out the locker :Rofl1:

I too bought a watering can after seeing the photo on Jims album I thought it was a brilliant idea, well done that man!!:thumb::thumb::thumb::thumb:

I think I may have the answer, I have an external shower which is outside the toilet window, I just press the button and it fills the toilet water tank. For the main tank I have a 40ltr aqua roll with a 12v pump system that fills the main tank that in turn feeds the shower, so minimal manual labour :thumb:

OMG-the bane of campsites, the sound of Tuggers trundling their Aqua rolls and Wastemasters around

Mike

That's a big watering can Jim. I bet it gets heavy.

We have a puny 6 litre one which we use.

In Spain last year we couldn't find a filling point so had to fill our tanks with one. 120 litres I think so it took a few trips..

Get an aqua roll and 12v pump, I have been laughing at the watering can brigade here tramping backward and forwards, I have done 3 aqua roll 40ltr trips, no need for the van to leave the pitch. When travelling the aqua roll stores in the shower cubicle, easy :thumb:

You must be a closet tugger

No just practical :thumb: Why on earth do 8 trips with a watering can when you can do one with an aqua roll? Sorry, it defies logic

20 trips more like.

20 cool untuggerlike trips though.

Not cool in this heat, you should see them, mind you mostly the older 'I know better' types, I just laugh at them sweating with their arms growing longer by the trip :Rofl1:

Dunno .. I'll ask Jan ...

she was sweating like a horse before it was filled... 32 trips to fill it :Rofl1::Rofl1:

the reason we had to use it was the nearest standpipe was out of reach .. I carried about 70mts of hose but it was just too far and no way was I manoeuvring around an aire to fill a tank.. and I did help , I'm not a total cad ..

5 litre BOTTLES? What's wrong with tea cups ? They've got handles making 'em much easier ......

Yeah - why not? Good old fashioned physics!

Holding a full aquaroll over your head to get it higher than the tank sounds a good idea. :Eeek:

THAT'LL tone your pec's - provided you don't have a heart attack first .....:Rofl1:

Hm well our table is higher than the tank !

s-e-n-s-i-b-l-e....nope, don't know that word...:Rofl1:

I'll try and explain with another example.

I'm sensible, I have two loudspeakers and an MP3 player. I can enjoy the finest music or even George Formby** at the touch of a button. On the other hand some people carry strange non battery powered boxes and attempt to synthesise music by hitting them with their fingers, judging by their expressions the results are painful to their fingers and judging by the speed cats disappear into the distance, painful in other ways.

** Actually I lie, if my MP3 player is programmed to self destruct if anything by George Formby appears on it's USB interface.
