Just looking
I understand that to use gas for the heater I use the button on the heater itself whereas for electric I use the dial above the door as in the picture

i am on hook up so I have left the heater alone other than put the fan setting on A and turned the dial on and to 2000

re water I think if using gas I turn on the dial next to the electric heating.

photo of both attached

However my question is re heating water - can I do this just using hook up and no gas? Ie if I don’t turn the dial on above the door but turn on my switch in the cupboard as seen in the photo then will it heat my water at 70 degrees

And if so can I just leave water heating via electric always on just as I do with my water pump when on electric?

Many thanks

Yes, there is a switch for the hookup power to the water heater, and there is a fixed temperature thermostat (70 degrees), so it will maintain that temperature if it is left switched on all the time. It works independently of the gas water heating. You can chose whether to have the gas water heating on or off.

Remember the water heater tank must be full of water while the heater is on, don't switch the heater (gas or electric) on if there's no water in the heater tank. If water comes out of the hot tap, then the water heater tank is full.

Apologies just re read my question and saw I mia wrote the second bit

The water I am all clear on

Can the heater work on electric only? The switch in the cupboard is on and the dial is on 2000 and max but no heat?

I had an ultrastore in my previous van. Electric water heating did work, but it took at least an hour to get the water warm and never got as hot as on gas. I don't think electric has anywhere near the same heat output. When on hookup, I often used to just leave the electric heating on but then if both of us wanted a shower, I'd switch to gas or the electric wouldn't keep up.

If you now mean Your room heater I believe it should be able to work on 240v only , the A setting on it is for the fan control (automatic) and should be used once the heater gets warm , try moving the control to the centre position (fan off), the room heater may need a reset which means turning the mains supply off for 15 mins. and then trying it again , if that does not work perhaps the heating element is faulty or has a poor connection. Also Is the temp. setting on the ultraheat control knob set as it should be ?

Have you tried it on other settings, like the 1000. Perhaps there are two elements, and only one is faulty so the other one might work. Is there a separate circuit breaker on the MH incoming mains supply that might have tripped?

There could be a separate switch for the room heater to work on 240 volts. It will be similar to the water heater one you identified fot the hot water. If not in the wardrobe it could be under the seats in the lockers.
