Has anyone tested the bathroom indicator light on a toilet cassette. For years and on 3 successive vans it's always been green and I've ducked out of testing it in situ.
Cheers.

"bathroom indicator light" Do you mean the Cassette Full indicator or do Hymers have a light to indicate the room is in use?

Fixing the little float that activates the warning light is one of those jobs you wouldn’t want to do twice!

Had it come on red a cople of times, once at a campsite but there were 6 of us and can't always get to the loo in time at night, other was when we were using aires and wilding. Learned my lesson, casette gets emptied every day and always before leaving an aire or campsite.

No it's a doddle with a small hand and a pair of gloves ;) not so easy to extricate a hair brush though.

And yes i am the casette emptier.

We have a black tank now, but from memory do cassettes not have flaps you have to open to drop your doings

you are allowed to look while open to see how full it is ???
..... and of course if you can't see, then the old finger dipping works well. :whistle2:

There are two systems fitted to my knowledge. One has green indicators telling you it’s empty, half full then a red telling you it‘s nearly full. The other system just has the red light not the green ones before.

My old one had power to the light the one I have now needs a battery. Never relied on the light and I don't have a battery in the one I have now.

Ours is permanently on red, no matter what the level, so we have to use the visual method, never the finger method, that's just gross.

Always empty pre friends round for drinkies, especially if they are not parked close enough to their own facilities. Or as now, there is a two foot of snow to negotiate to return to ones own van.

Why not just fill it with clean water from a bucket or hose when you're at home, keeping an eye (or finger !) on the level and see if the warning light comes on ?
