Hi all,
i’m looking into replacing my dommetic 8 series 3 way with a Vitrifrigo compressor fridge, a C130.

I’ll be uprating the solar panel and leisure batteries to cope but wanted to ask if anyone had experience of these in terms of performance, reliability and noise. I’ve tried looking for reviews but nothing much about…

Hi. I received your PM but to reply here may be more useful.
We sold the Hymer containing the new Vitrifrigo fridge before we had a chance to use it in anger. However, when running at the back end of the 'van there was no perceptible noise in the cab end, and it made ice cubes in less than one hour!
Italian marine products tend to be reliable 'cos regular maintenance is not normally on the agenda!

Hi Pusscat

Our new van has a Vitirigo C95.
So far so good. I have upgraded batteries to cope and solar added yesterday .

It is quieter than the smaller fridge in our previous camper , and does not bother us at all. And seems well able to cope with the heat yesterday.

The compressor on mine is mounted remotely and has air vents and a vent fan under the floor ….

Daniel.

Sounding good!
There’s space behind the current dommetic where the compressor could go, I can line that with some sound insulation to further deaden noise…I can keep the two vent areas to get good circulation to get rid of the heat.

I have fitted remote compressors in all three of my boats. I never bothered with sound insulation as they are inherently very quiet. However, ventilation is essential, but again, I never bothered with a fan as good convection is usually adequate.
