Why, when France comes to you! View this morning from our bedroom window in République du Portsoy, Aberdeenshire!

The French did try unsuccessfully to land a bit further south in 1708. Have they succeeded this time? :)

Pls put this simple chap's curiosity to bed.
Are the pics a Photoshop joke, or has the area been Frenchied for a film set?

Unsurprisingly another failed French attempt.
LES

I just want to know if they’re brandy or whiskey barrels

It works the other way around.

I was watching an old film (was it yesterday?) "The foreman went to France"

In the last scene, purporting to be in France, I spied the tower at Portleven, Cornwall.
I think Adolf might have objected to Tommy Trinder filming in France in 1942.

The pics are NOT photoshopped! It has been turned into a film set, so "real (ish)"

So it's a film location 'dressed' historically for a re-enactment..........?
Not really, dressed for a TV drama film set, about early 1930s gangsters, you may have heard of them!!

Nope, before my time. The only Scottish ones I've heard of are much later: The The Fishy Two.

Peaky Blinders!
 Still no idea who they were.
Just started snowing quite hard again here so with now't else to do I'll look 'em up on Wiki.

(Or as my granddad said when bumping into the local vicar who invited him to go to church: "I might just do that. It'll pass a half hour away". ;)

We we’re late to the party, but the series are quite compulsive viewing. They are shooting series 6 here just now, which will be the last one, then there will be a film.
