On our usual meander around France this year as part of the trip we're planning to take the D998 from La Canourgue to Ste-Enimie and on via the D907b to Florac before taking the D9 Corniche de Cevennes through to Anduze. I have had a look at it on streetview and it seems a bit scary in places i.e. sheer drops, narrow roads and steep hair pin bends. Have any of you intrepid motorhomers taken this route and what are your thoughts on it?

Hi. We've done this route a few times over the years. Parts of it, on occasion, in an artic :whatthe: (not recommended!).
No problems with the road - just a bit character-forming trying to avoid clobbering some of the stone walls and rockfaces with your mirrors!
If you work out an estimate of travel time, double it - you'll probably be stopping quite a few times to wield the camera!
It's breathtaking.

We did that route last year, no problems even with a split turbo hose. Stayed at a very nice Municipal Campsite just outside Florac. The road was quiet, so you can travel at your own pace, pulled over a couple of times to let trucks pass.
