Victron Smartsolar MPPT 100/20 upgrade

Just purchased this to swap for my existing PWM unit.
Not fitted yet but looks straightforward, my question though is the Victron instructions say 'apply a single ground connection'
There is an earth connection on the side of the controller. Checked a few YT vids and not seen this connection used.
Be grateful if anyone has fitted similar and can advise.

Reading the install instruction I would take that as just install a single ground cable rather than running multiple cables, the pictures don't show any case grounding.

I have two Victron Smartsolar MPPT 100/20 on my setup and I have never grounded the cases and it all runs as happy as Larry.

It's only for none grounded applications, most vehicle systems are grounded to chassis.

I have never grounded the cases and it all runs as happy as Larry.

Larry’s wife left him last week; he’s not one bit happy about it!
