How do you find the app connection?
I only had the system installed on Wednesday.
At Vanbitz the app wouldn't connect properly, it just continually connected then went to "fetching data" then before it displayed any data went back to connecting then "fetching data' over and over.
It has been like this since installing so so far I have no idea what the solar system is actually doing.
Do people with the Victron app find that it connects ok ?

Using it for more than 7 years so far, no issues. Delete the app with its data, and re install the app. Default pass for pairing is 6 zeros. Make sure your Bluetooth is on, and paired before you use the app.

Did you have it installed at/by Vanbitz? If so I would have thought they would have shown it to you working?

Give them a shout, their support team are excellent. eddievanbitz

I've uninstalled and reinstalled the app.
My phone is in the van about 4ft from the controller.
Bluetooth is on and still won't connect properly.
I even tried uninstalling the app on my phone and installing it on the girlfriends phone but had the same results.
Both phones are android, mine a Huawei and hers a Samsung.
As I've only just had the solar installed and we are away off hook up for the first time I'm interested to know what the solar is doing.

Yes installed by Vanbitz on Wednesday.
The app behaved the same when they tried to show me it working.
They said it might be my phone but as I said it's the same trying it on the girlfriends phone.

Yes obviously a connection issue but surprised that the problem is the same on 2 different phones ?

Do you have a blutooth connection to your radio in the van, mine started to "take over" the bluetooth and stopped me from connecting. A quick reset on the radio sorted that out

Yes make sure is visible on Bluetooth and paired. Sometimes is worth to forget device, and re pair.
Bluetooth only works one connection at the time, other things must be off, if you have multiple paired devices.

Bluetooth is limited to a short range and that will be weakened further if other electronic stuff or metallics are in the way. Having said that my solar and shunt connections are fine when close enough but only in the van, rarely outside. As others say is other bluetooth stuff interfering? Make sure you have the current app and software on the unit (should prompt you to allow any update).

No other blue tooth devices in the van and my phone recognises the controller fine.
It states "connecting", quickly reaches 100%, then states "fetching data" but immediately goes back to "connecting".
This just happens over and over until I give up.

That’s the app, it can be seen but not able to connect to. The app connects to the device via BT, try forget device in your phone BT settings, then re pair it.
Then try the app again.

It reaches 100% connected fine then starts fetching data but immediately goes back to connecting.

Yes tried forgetting device and repairing, turning Bluetooth off and on on my phone and uninstalling and installing the app but it never gets past a second or 2 of fetching data before it starts connecting again.

Strange, I sued to get this regular and forgetting restarting worked. And that was on a huwaiwei too.

After multiple, and I mean many many, uninstalls/installs, forget/pair the app is working.
So what does this screenshot mean in terms of amps used/generated over the last couple of days please

How old are the phones? Are they apple or Android? What version of the OS do you have?

Both phones are android and both about 3 years old.
The app appears to be working fine now though ☺️

In the last couple of days 190wh, about 15ah harvest, the other days significantly less.

Is that relative to usage.
Yesterday was brilliant sunshine all day long.
If the batteries had needed more charging would the solar have delivered more or is 15 amps what I can expect in perfect conditions.
I doubt I'll really get a better day for solar than yesterday.

The different colours on the graphs show white bulk, light blue absorption and dark blue float. In other words the first t we o days you were fully charged and today you are well on the way to full. Once charged amp and wattage would drop. A more interesting scenario is if you have a drained battery to see what the day brings.

The system will only produce what it it called upon to deliver. If the van is parked up and not in use then 20 to 40 wH is all it will need to maintain a full battery. As soon as you switch stuff on and create a demand, the controller will ramp up accordingly to meet it (within the limits of the available sunlight on the day).

I see that on your perfect sunny day the panel produced a peak 92 watts. If You've got a 100w panel then all looks good.

BTW - A similar question was asked a couple of weeks ago with helpful responses.

This was posted by Barti Ddu in another thread.

The bottom part of each bar represents the proportion of time bulk charging, the middle band Absorption, and the top band Float charging. If you do a long press on one of the bars it will actually provide times in hours and minutes for each of these phases.

Edit: I wrote this 10 mins ago and forgot to post it!

The panel is 115 watts to a Victron 75 - 15 MPPT.
