Why does the manufacturers plate on my vehicle show loads as 1800kg front axle and 2000kg rear = 3800kg, but the vehicle is rated at 3500kg....does this mean it is robust enough and could be uprated to 3800kg if my driving license allowed ???

It has been plated at 3500kg to allow it to be driven on a B licence. You could fairly easily up-plate it to 3800kg but would then need a C1 licence to drive it. Perfectly normal, my axle weights add up to 3850kg but it has been registered and plated at 3500kg.Why does the manufacturers plate on my vehicle show loads as 1800kg front axle and 2000kg rear = 3800kg, but the vehicle is rated at 3500kg....does this mean it is robust enough and could be uprated to 3800kg if my driving license allowed ???
There is normally a base vehicle manufacturers plate, then a chassis manufacturers plate, then the converters plate. Why does the manufacturers plate on my vehicle show loads as 1800kg front axle and 2000kg rear = 3800kg, but the vehicle is rated at 3500kg....does this mean it is robust enough and could be uprated to 3800kg if my driving license allowed ???
