Hi, hope you can help. I've been slightly confused by the instructions for the controller for the space heating and water heating in my Roller Team T-Line. if I'm doing one or the other then I'm fine, it does as I would expect, however, if I should set both the water heating and space heating at the same time (in whichever order) I seem to remember that one has priority and operates first ?

if both are set, does it heat the habitation area to the set temperature and then start on the water heating ? or is it the other way round ?

many thanks, sorry for being a dope, sometimes I amaze myself with the simple things that I can't work out :(

Hello Paul I am no expert and simple things confuse me too but I think the water takes priority , but could be wrong .

If I recall.... it does both at same time... but more energy to water heating initially , the hot air heating blower stays on “low” until...

If coming up from cold and you want to maximise the output from the combi, select the option for Mix2 in the operating mode menu. You will then get 1800W of electric power and the Gas burner operating together to give you maximum heat. Of course, you need to be on Hook-up for this or you can only run on gas.

Here is the manual if you can't lay your hands on yours.

Good luck

I’ll be finding out this weekend likely, off to the New Forest and Dorset Steam Fair First ‘proper’ trip out

Hello, Paul.

The user-interface is not that friendly. The control is designed to do much more than we need and that doesn’t help, but there is some logic to it all.

Heat flows from the centre, though the exchanger where the space heating occurs and then to the water container on the outside. So, under normal conditions, the water is “sucking on a hind tit”. Space and water heating will happen simultaneously, but the water will not heat much if the space heating is in high demand. Indeed, if space heating is on full, the water temperature could fall while heating up the van.

There are icons along the very top for heating, then water. These flash when a demand is being addressed. So, if the “flame” (space heating) and the “thermometer” (hot water) are flashing, the controller is telling you that it is trying to heat both.

If you want hot water as a priority, set the water temp to “boost”. When you do that it will suppress any space heating demand for at least 30 minutes, until the water has reached maximum temperature (which is slightly more than the “hot” setting).

One day I might write my own user-manual, but I’d need to have the thing in front of me to be sure I describe it all correctly. I’d do so for my own benefit as I often have to stop and think about it before making a change.

Enjoy the New Forest. Let's hope you don't need any space heating!
